The only time that normal is ever interesting is when is secondary to another type, like psychic. The only reason whitney was a hard gym leader to beat was because her miltank knew rollout (a rock type move!)

Well sure it was no problem if you plowed through her with your overlevelled starter, but I always had to make sure my pokes had equal levels so i always start battles with my weakest poke then switch into an average levelled poke instead of giving all the xp to my starter. This created problems when miltank spammed rollout before I could take it down and by the time I was down to just my starter it would be hitting 150 base damage.

They aren't. The greatest quality of normal types is they learn so many different moves that ARENT normal type, ergo normal is lametype.
