Yes you get credits for viewing posts, but only 25 cents im sure, go to the statistics and then go to transactions on the elft that way youl see all te ways

Commenting/posting gets you about 5p too. Starting your own thread gets you over 10p.
Apparently "Reading a Thread" does give you 0.25 P, but "Viewing a Thread" gives you 1.00 P. Not sure what the difference is. It might be that the 0.25P one is for threads you've already read all the new posts on, and new posts needing reading on the 1.00P one.
