My only shiny I remember catching was a Shiny Nidoran (male) I was so happy....but I already had a level 80 Nidoking and didn't feel like raising it to take it's place D:

I can still remember when, after years of playing every generation, I encountered my very first shiny: a Machop in Diamond. Unfortunately, he had a terrible nature, and I'm none too fond of the fighting type in the first place, but he earned his place on my team for the mere fact that he was the first I'd ever seen.

Later, I managed to catch a shiny Audino and Minccino in Black.

I've been playing my Diamond version quite a bit this week, trying to master the chaining technique.
So far in the last few days I've caught a Shiny Nosepass, Smoochum, Shinx, Krabby, Ponyta and just tonight I caught
3 Shiny Larvitars in the space of 10 minutes after reaching a chain of 40

And that is why I stay away from chaining, there is no presige in getting them. I gave all my chained pokemon away to my friends who wanted them.

It sure beats the hell out of tens of thousands of random encounters. And I don't know the meaning of the word presigue
