Oh God, I just got a very distant premonition of what Trainer Red's team will look like on difficulty level 2 and up.
The horror.
Of course, this is a VERY LONG time away from 0.20.
Think of it: Lvl 81 Pikachu would be Lvl 97. And that's just difficulty level 2.
that sounds really awesome, honestly. the most fun ive had playing through soulsilver recently was beating lance's level 47-50 stuff with only 3 pokemon anywhere near that level and i had to use my low level ones as speed bumps while i revived the high level ones and if my last move on the first time i beat it had missed i probably would have been boned. so fun

Thanks for the info, and yes, i remember using speed-bump Pokemon too, but that's because sometimes i never bothered equally leveling all 6 Pokemon to match the rival trainers, but now with an update a week, i do the area, and aim for a nice bold number, like get them to lvl 20 and wait til next week, then lvl 25 etc.
On another note, i find it funny that they are making a 3d Pokemon for the DS or whatever, yet the graphics on this game are almost better than the company game, sure theirs is fancy, but its just lost its good old fashioned touch.

gen 6 looks amazing, but thankfully we arent in direct competition with it. ninty are going to put out a top notch hand held game but nilllzz is making a very 'PC' pokemon game and we have several things their game will never have. p3d is moddable and on PC we can offer multiplayer gameplay they would find difficult to do on the NDS, like full coop. it's also free and anyone with a computer that isn't like 10 years old can play it.

personally i wasnt attracted so much by this game being 3d, i'm more excited by the idea of having a cool pokemon engine for pc. with one of those you can battle people who liked pokemon but haven't got one of the current games, play the game again in a cooler way than playing it in an emulator, and the potential for mods for a flexible engine for pokemon games is huge.
