EDIT: Here are current Gamemodes available for download that are made for Nuzlocke!
-Straight up Nuzlocke from Dev team: Download
-shiny_mew's RandomLocke!: Download and Thread for bug reporting and discussion!
Hey all, Snoe here,
I'm actually surprised I haven't seen anyone post this yet as it's one of those things that make pokemon even better.
Nonetheless I bring you:
(quality is bad and i should feel bad)
Welcome to the Nuzlocke challenge. I myself have not done a Nuzlocke (due to a specific rule of Nuzlocke) but now that Pokemon3D holds more than one save I see no harm in it.
There are many different versions of Nuzlocke and I encourage viewers to add to this thread of versions they know. Some focus on speedruns, other focus on no items or pokecenters, etc.. etc..
I will now paste the ORIGINAL set of rules for the most basic of Nuzlocke
Its pretty simple:
1. The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.
2. if any of your pokemon faints in battle, it is considered dead and released. NO EXCEPTIONS
If you can complete the main story all the way to the end while following the two rules you've essentially beaten THE NUZLOCKE CHALLENGE!
Here's some added rules straight from bulbapedia:
While not exactly a definite rule, the general consensus is that players must also nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
Also not a definite rule, but the general consensus is that a black out/white out is considered to be "game over", even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
Welp that's essentially it!
Again any links to different versions of the Nuzlocke are EXTREMELY welcome.
Happy travels!
