Fixed Bugs on 0.17

I don't know if any of these are already posted, but none of them are in the confirmed bugs topic.

  • It's possible to jump off a ledge to a place that have a NPC in it (Youngster Joey, in my case). It will cause the NPC to disappear, and you cannot talk to it. But if you go out that place, everything goes back to normal. If you are in third person mode, this happens:
  • If you choose to enter in your PC's host in the PC in Pokécenter, the PC GUI closes. Also, the ' (apostrophe) don't appear in the phrase (Knonick's PC).
  • If you are in third person mode, and press W while in front a wall, the character's sprite become transparent.
  • Take a look at this:
Where is the transparent wall?
  • The dark area on the screen in the Dark Cave isn't big enough, I can see what I want without difficult (in the original game is very difficult see many things without Flash).
  • The sign in route 31 (in front of the Violet City gate) isn't in English, maybe in German (i don't understand it :p).
  • Union Cave have New Bark Town music.
  • I can't enter in Ruins of Alph from route 36.
That's all, the game is becoming every time more awesome!

  • "Where is the transparent wall? [It's intended so that the camera doesn't zoom in on your character - that would look awful and create ugly camera movement if you turn near a wall ...]" Yeah, but the wall should become transparent, like the trees.

[Not a bug in my opinion - maybe a suggestion for a different way of implementing that feature]" Yeah, my mistake on posting it here.
  • "I can't enter in Ruins of Alph from route 36. [Is already in the bugs list]" Sorry, I didn't saw this in the list.

i have a few more to add to this...

  • going back to professor Elm after meeting with Mr. Pokemon does nothing. i try to talk to him but he wont tell me any new information or advance the game.
  • when my opponent is burned it doesn't seem to take any effect. the screens shows that they are burned but no negative effect it shown
  • when leveling up new skills are not announced. (when my charmander leveled up to learn ember I got no notification)

First dot point is because there is currently no Story after receiving the Mystery Egg. You should have already known this as you don't fight your rival on the way back.

I believe Status Effects are not implemented in the game yet.

i also never got a rival, but i have seen that bog already reported. also i wasnt sure what to expect with that regard based on other posts.

a lot of these are just missing content but the missing wall is just the engine not rendering the wall because the camera is inside it

currently 3rd person camera is a 1st person camera stuck behind your sprite at an offset. if you look down you'll look at the ground. nilllzz's engine is done from scratch so a lot of its rough atm. all the little things that games do aren't in yet. there's a lot of bugs with collision detection like the ledge thing you posted. warp blocks and slide blocks are bad for it too. this is because when the game moves a character through scripting or special blocks the movement just happens without checks. in some ways this can be desirable, like the slenderman easter egg can't work at all without it. but eventually there should be stuff to make sure it doesn't glitch out.

also, i'd actually prefer if the camera just collided with the wall and zoomed you in, its how it works with almost any kind of orbit camera in games. for this to work the camera needs to be able to orbit the player and not just sit behind the player. with an orbiting camera you can have the player look down and the camera goes above your character so you can look down etc. it moves on an sphere around the player basically, and if your character turns your camera turns with it.

this sort of thing comes out of the box in udk but in this case nilllzz will have to implement it or something. cheers for pointing out some glitches though, it makes hunting them down easier

oh, and the transparent player sprites intended, its so you can see the wall or npc you are bumping into

heres a gif i made ages ago that shows similar issues to the ledges and your wall

as you can see going up a slide block even ignores other slide blocks so atm they can't be chained together
