Not confirmed [Indev 0.53.2] Day-Care Triggers Pokémon's Item Recovery

I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature, but I might as well note it.
Since I was breeding I noticed something about this, every time the day-care man gave a phone call, the "ding" sound of your pokemon finding an item on the ground activated. After further attempts I noticed it just works like this;

-Your pokemon has to be over 100 steps since last item recovered
-He needs not to have found any item yet

After which, if the Day-care man gives a call about an egg, it seems to be activating the trigger for your pokemon to find a random item as well.

and you consider that a bug why?
it's actually every 255 steps (which is called an egg cycle).

Because the moment the Day-care man calls is always coinciding exactly with the moment your pokemon finds an item, activating at the exact same step, regardless of the step difference between the two, as long as your pokemon isn't already holding one.

it's 1 single value for everything that uses the egg cycle value, i.e they don't have a separate egg cycle value.
