I'm afraid I don't understand this.
Everything is in original format, 16x16 bit. So it is pixel-y.
There are 3d models, but I do wish there was more, although I think they are hard a work on this.
I would really love varying angles, a cylinder, and all kinds of stuff. But i know these guys are hard at work.

Well, then your expectations are a little too high.
This is a computer game engine, that is quite capable of probably doing this, but most likely will not.
I'd love to see in battle the trainer's actual picture instead of their NPC sprite, but this game was made to put you in the eyes of a classic game and make you barf nostalgia.
But, maybe after they finsih the main game they can do cool stuff like that, but right now i'd rather have the dev team worry about...maybe DEVELOPMENT. Don't take that as an insult. I just capitalized it for emphasis.

XD that is a great reason. I hope they do a better job than with gen 5

The thing is, they'd have to make 3D models (like those in Pokemon Stadium, etc) for all of these Pokemon and format them into the game. Not only is this extremely difficult, it takes a LOT of time. You have to realize that The 3D Pokemon games like X and Y, Colosseum, and Stadium were made by paid professionals and took years to make and develop. Now, I'm not saying that these guys aren't professional, but it's just not worth it to craft all of these 3D Pokemon and set them out for free. Not only that, but they'd probably have to remake the whole game in 3D, so the models wouldn't stand out. Someone will probably take on the challenge some day, but don't count your chickens before they hatch, haha.​

to use models we'd need to have models for that i want it to be possible down the road but it'll be really hard.
