Is it just me or are Legendaries becoming out of hand?

While the show was always aimed at a younger audience, I just remember there being a lot more heartfelt moments back when I was younger, and it felt like a lot of emotion went into it. Maybe it's just nostalgia here, because I feel like the show now, was dumbed-down and its appeal is less widened. Ash, despite all hes been through, is a moron who makes the same mistakes over and over, and every season is like a repeat of the last. It is incredibly kiddish, be it more-so. It's more commercialized in quality, and is really just a show aimed at small children; mostly male.

The Game and Manga (I believe Pokemon Adventures?) have a more serious and more mature tone to them, with death and actual moments of strife. It's not always rainbows and Ash getting yet another Gym Badge. The show itself was made after the original games, and things in the show were just added for filler and aren't considered canon to the game and even the manga. It's why I say they don't mix or cross-over. An example is how Ash is modeled after Red (although a stupid, stubborn, foolish mimic of Red). Ash doesn't exist in the games because he was just made as the protag for the show.

I'll concur that Ash is an idiot, but there are some good things in the show, you just have to look past the MC who's level 100 Pikachu forgets how to be competent, and refuses to evolve. Lately, I only really watch the movies.

....don't get me started on Digimon..............the first 3 sets were good. after that i quite honestly looked at my tv and said "the fuck" i guess thats what happens when Disney buys a bunch of the company >.< (ohgod.......random thought....i hope SW isnt ruined further by the big D, ohgod, ohgod, ohgod)

Nintendo might be more of the problem than GameFreak, though. Nintendo's always been afraid to venture in to new territory in fear of someone not liking it and making a fuss. So maybe they're stifling the stuff we want to see to keep their "family friendly" status. Just a thought.

I'm not saying they need to Ax the "family friendly" stuff. It should be possible to have 2 versions of things for anyone familiar with DBZ or Negima both had more than 1 version granted some may dislike Dragon Ball Z Kai but the point is it's doable. Did DBZ Kai make Original DBZ Fans hate or shy away from Original DBZ I'd say for the most part no.

Some companies today need to stop the greed & Fear and get back to good old fashioned business basics!

just saying, with rule #1 ...you have NEVER worked in fast food (also #2 for fast food) or in retail.................they are definitly not always right....most of the time they are friggin idiots, ie what i do now - cut stone counter tops and install them (granite) well.. this lady, DEMANDED that i put it in a certain way, i told her it wouldnt work with the way her counter was set up (ie she wanted me to slide it around her sink instead of placing it down then her sink goes on top) well little to say she kept yelling so i finally did it and BAM stone got scratched, sink got ruined, and my boss told me she was an idiot and was still paying for everything bc how she treated the proffessional xD...side note : i LOVE my job

Don't assume Anything I've worked 4 Fast Food jobs in my life but our manager at 2 out of the 4 had us take the complaint & actually do something to appease the customers.


Whilst I submit that yes MOST might be idiots if they want something done do as you did if it goes wrong oh well. Trust me I know about idiotic people. As I said I work in public/mass Transit now and a majority of both of my jobs involve customer service and/or dealing with the public on some level. Even when I don't deal with them directly the things I witness sometimes are just ... Uggghhh *pulls hair out*

Honestly, I was playing SS, I was battling Mewtwo, I got it down to approx. 10 HP, put it to sleep, and I still couldn't catch it. But I was fighting Ho-oh, I got it down to about 20 or so HP, didn't put it to sleep or anything, and all it took me was a Great Ball and an Ultra Ball. I looked up on Bulbapedia to see their catch rates, which didn't vary by much.

I feel like after Gen3 things started getting out of control...
Palkia and Dialga were ok...but after Garatina and the rest came in, it was too much.

Agreed, even some of the Pokemon are getting out of hand, like Spiritomb, Pokemon were meant to resemble Animals, not some demonic spirit thing. (Not offending Spiritomb, it's OP as hell)
