Is it just me or are Legendaries becoming out of hand?

Do you agree that they've gone to far?

@Kooh

I'd personally prefer if things from the Anime were kept to the Anime. The Anime and the Game are two different canons.
Well sorry but to each his or her ( In our case ) own -_- :asshat::bag:

On a Side note did you change your Forum/Profile Avatar Pic? If so its cute :3 :cat:

No!!! Don't be that way!!! I'm just saying! Like for example, Misty isn't supposed to have sisters in the Game canon, but she does in the show. That's all.

And I did, thanks!

Well the Olympus 'Mons are explicitly stated to be gods, and unique, while some of the other Legends, it's shown that they are more extremely rare and powerful, but not necessarily unique, e.g. the anime shows that there is a breeding population of Lugia, and the Silver Pokedex entry for Entei says "A Pokémon that races across the land. It is said that one is born every time a new volcano appears." - Bulbapedia
So, as long as there's some level of consistency, I mean, think about how many legends and myths we have in the real world. I don't think anybody knows all of them.
Hmm I see I've not looked up Entei's Pokedex data on Bulbapedia in fact I don't use it all that much however that entry is intriguing. The Lugia thing though I do recall. Whilst I can't say rather or not there isn't anyone who knows all the myths and legends of the world just that fact alone helps reinforce my point. If new legends/myths are being discovered or even created and we go by the research of the various "Pokemon Professors" it could be looked at simply:

Real world = Always discovering new things ( Myths & Legends in this case )

Pokemon World = Always discovering New Pokemon , evolutions, fossils etc. as such it stands to reason that new Legendaries continue to be revealed as well as part of these research & discoveries as we have seen by some professors.

Example- Pokemon The Movie 3 Professors Hale researching Legendary Pokemon & The Unkown or that "collector" weirdo in Pokemon The Movie 2000 and his obsession with the legendary bird trio and Lugia. Then of course like in the real world some Legendaries are talked about among certain crowds. For example in the Anime when Morty first told Ash the legend of Ho-Oh during "The Johto Journey's" season I believe it was.

And while Whitney ( And some others ) May "Prefer things from the Anime to stay in the Anime" the reality is not only for continuity sake but for sheer common sense some things are going to find a way to correlate with one another to an extent rather it be to the taste of some but not others or not

Who are we too assume what was and wasn't supposed to be or be where? anyway while it may not have been intended and again everybody is entitled to their opinions but for me I just think it would have been nice for her to have her sisters in the game too to help maintain some continuity there

And btw you're welcome :)

Don't get me wrong, I loved the show back when I was younger... but now it's way too kiddish and stupid! I prefer Pokemon more with an adventurous, darker and mature tone.

The show really hasn't changed at all in "kiddish" factor, it's called you got older and "outgrew" it, whereas my dad and i dont have a problem with the "childlike" factor of the show and saturday mornings youll find us in front of couch beer in hand watching ash get followed by team rocket :D

Agreed to an extent. As I think I've said somewhere before ( not sure if on thread or elsewhere ) it seems to me Nintendo just needs to either get back to basics of designing or perhaps get some fresh talent in development/design/planning. Perhaps maybe though like a certain MMO I play they are just taking the cheap easy way on things -_-

Then there is a Teaser on YouTube you should see.. If only they would make that show a real series alas they are too Dumb Stupid cheap and whatever to consider Making 2 different Anime after the whole fiasco they screwed up with their little side series. I think it was called Pokemon challenges or heroes or something. I can't even remember no more

Nintendo might be more of the problem than GameFreak, though. Nintendo's always been afraid to venture in to new territory in fear of someone not liking it and making a fuss. So maybe they're stifling the stuff we want to see to keep their "family friendly" status. Just a thought.

Amen to that I dunno if I'd say in general it naturally depends on the company and what area the company specializes in. I work in Public/Mass Transit so obviously it's not so much content but rather service related issues and the stupidity of Management + The Government

But back on topic I'd say in some areas certain companies have slowly changed or gone downhill thus causing certain things even franchises to suffer.

Prime Example: In this Thread Pokemon while still popular has gone downhill

Unrelated Example: Digimon has seemed to have gone terribly downhill :(

....don't get me started on Digimon..............the first 3 sets were good. after that i quite honestly looked at my tv and said "the fuck" i guess thats what happens when Disney buys a bunch of the company >.< (ohgod.......random thought....i hope SW isnt ruined further by the big D, ohgod, ohgod, ohgod)

While the show was always aimed at a younger audience, I just remember there being a lot more heartfelt moments back when I was younger, and it felt like a lot of emotion went into it. Maybe it's just nostalgia here, because I feel like the show now, was dumbed-down and its appeal is less widened. Ash, despite all hes been through, is a moron who makes the same mistakes over and over, and every season is like a repeat of the last. It is incredibly kiddish, be it more-so. It's more commercialized in quality, and is really just a show aimed at small children; mostly male.

The Game and Manga (I believe Pokemon Adventures?) have a more serious and more mature tone to them, with death and actual moments of strife. It's not always rainbows and Ash getting yet another Gym Badge. The show itself was made after the original games, and things in the show were just added for filler and aren't considered canon to the game and even the manga. It's why I say they don't mix or cross-over. An example is how Ash is modeled after Red (although a stupid, stubborn, foolish mimic of Red). Ash doesn't exist in the games because he was just made as the protag for the show, and "based" after Red.

I'm not saying they need to Ax the "family friendly" stuff. It should be possible to have 2 versions of things for anyone familiar with DBZ or Negima both had more than 1 version granted some may dislike Dragon Ball Z Kai but the point is it's doable. Did DBZ Kai make Original DBZ Fans hate or shy away from Original DBZ I'd say for the most part no.

Some companies today need to stop the greed & Fear and get back to good old fashioned business basics!

1: The customer is always right
2: Apreciate respect & Value your customers
3: No risks No Pain No gain. I.E. Take chances & Break out of your shell
