I need tips and I need to know if it will even work in this, also how do I check what the current IV/EV stats are?

Do you see a rainbow colour bar on the Pokémon Summary screen? That bar tells you the EV value of your current pokemon.
yeah i figured that out right before you posted this, I need to know more about do all the pokemon actually give the EV they are supposed to or if there is an IV checker in game, and if theres not he should be a guy in the shops in the tunnels in golden rod that would be a good place since everyone hatches eggs in goldenrod. Anyway thanks for the info.

Every pokemon gives different EV's, and you can mostly guess what pokemon give what EV's. For example: Machop gives 1 attack EV, while Machamp gives 3 attack EV's. Pidgey gives one Speed EV, Pidgeot gives 3 etc.
You can find information about what EV's are given by pokemon on Bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net

For the IV's, you'll never know.
Unless you count what EV's your pokemon have. You can calculate what IV's a pokemon has by using the level, nature and EV's in an IV calculator, for example this one. http://www.psypokes.com/dex/iv.php

Pokemon are born with the randomly generated ones. You cannot change the IV's whatsoever. The IV's shouldn't bother you too much until later in the game.

great, that will make up for the fact that there is none in game yet:) i just wish i could know teh exact ammount of ev i had to check my pokemon i already have, but oh well.
It won't be in the game, because it isn't in the actual games either. Neither is the coloured EV bar, which means that it might get added. I hope not lol

Replace EV with IV and answer the same question.
It's more an opinion than anything else. Breeders specialize in knowing how to work with IV's and how to see what IV's the pokemon has. If every amateur can work with it, the game would be less fun in my opinion. Don't question it, i don't even know an answer to why.
