well....each one of them is a first pokemon, again, it depends on how you interpret the question, You "Hippo" gave it 2 answers by adding information to each.

No no no, the FIRST pokemon. The very very very FIRST pokemon. The first in the pokedex makes no sense, mew is merely an ancestor and Arceus is the very very very FIRST pokemon.
