Dialga probably visited the only 1 out of googolplex of alternate timelines in which he dodges the move, in the other (googolplex-1) timelines, it Hits!
But hey, if he used Hippo-be-gone, Hippo wasn't gone. That means Hippo-be-gone would inevitably work, but since Hippo is the observable universe, he can't be gone. Therefore, the attack fails.
Now I see how "randomness" this "totally" is!

MrHippocrit is too condensed as is. If he were to minimize, his density would spiral toward infinity and a black hole the size of the universe would form.
