Not a bug pokemon and sleep

so i was battling a onix for the heck of it just leveling up my water pokemon and i was useing a poliwag and put onix to sleep after 5 turns it woke up and after that i used all the rest of my pp trying to put it to bed but it kept waking up right after my move and just after falling to sleep is this a glitch or bug or am i just unlucky?

in prior updates, where a glitch with the sleep, maybe it's in this version too, the... mmm... please put the version of your game in the title, like in the other threads...

ok it is the newest 0.21,1 sorry for not useing that format im new

sleep explained:
sleep will last for at least 1 turn (the turn it was used) after that the pokemon has a 33% chance to wake up. this last for a maximum of 5 turns, after 5 turns being asleep the pokemon will wake up, so you have the turn you used it in + 4 turns max. random wakes can happen in the turn after you use it.

to sum it up: you were unlucky
