14% shiny rate, any baby pokemon, and it takes 5,126 steps or something
I believe the shiny chance is ~12%. The Pokémon is randomly selected from a list of baby Pokémon. The steps to hatch should be somewhere in the 5,000s.
No wonder you beat me to it, I was too busy dealing with someone else.

how long do you think it will take with just walking?
Just play the game normally with it in your party, time will fly by so fast you'll forget you have it, and it will hatch.

yeah but I want a shiny tyrouge to evolve into a shiny hitmontop but I already beat whitney and don't want to be too far ahead with it still at level one and I'm right by the daycare so...
lolol, you beat Whitney? that means you just got the egg.u'll probably get all badges before it hatches.
Also, i think it's 14% of getting shinies, and the steps needed vary with each pokemon, tyrogue for example needs about 6700 steps.
