You want play with friend(s) only or with all kinda players?
If with all kinda players then I suggest for you to play in Official Server or my server (Pokemon World).

Have you tested the port?

Do you have more than 1 router running at the same time? Else you might be using the wrong ip address to port forward.

I have solve my port forward problem because I am running 2 router at the same time so port forward might fail.

I Figured out my problem. I had tested the port and it was working well which was what really confused me. it turns out with a belkin router I cant use the global IP from within the network but anyone else outside could, so it was only me that couldnt connect. and to use the locak IP you have to do something to get rid of the automatic port the game puts in so i just added a . after the port

Actually his post was TL;DR, so...i though i'd ask you instead.
Something about his router being a ''belkin'' router, because of this he can't use his Global IP, which made it so he couldn't access his own server yet others were able to.
So to make it work, he needed to do something about the port and put an ''a'' in there, which works? I am not sure, I am questioning this myself.
