Solved how to battle / trade in Co-op mode?

I just recently attempted co-op mode with a friend and was unable to battle him, is it part of the game yet?

They will definitely bulid up Co-op to be much better in the future, so you just have to wait. Very curious to know what plans they have for co-op? Would be awesome with pokemon card battles too, but I guess its out of question.

It will be great if it is done sooner. The game so far is great, but it doesn't gives us any new pokemon experiance. After finishing the Johto area maybe they could surprise us with something cool and new to pokemon games like pvp battles.
Something like the pokemon tournaments in the animation.

I will say able to do Double Battles with Trainers that have more then 1 pokemon

by the time johto is complete, the map editor should be finished and more people will be making maps and scripts, so I expect the game to take off quite quickly at or near the end of johto
