If you try achieving that by removing your last pokemon you get a message that you're not allowed to do so. However, if you pick up an egg and switch that with the last pokemon able to fight even a 6-eggs-team is possible. Furthermore, if you happen to enter a fight with that setting, the game (that's what I suppose at least) uses the predefined pokemon at level 1 to fight for you, thus showing what's inside. I guess, considering Tornado's discovery concerning the exp-share. it might even be possible to level them up by fighting, instant hatch them by evolving, etc, but i did not especially test that.
