They're all Level 1 by the way.

No need to feel sorry about asking. But yes, you have to be online in order to trade and receive gifts from other players.
Best wishes with that Pryce battle, but... If your actual team is the one that appears on that sig trainer card, then you're going to have some troubles at Blackthorne Gym.
