I don t know if you agree with me but the bug catching contest as it is, is kinda dull. You enter a couple of times, catch a few Scythers win and probably never play again 
. What, in my opinion, would be pretty cool, is the addition of every single bug pokemon from every single generation until now in the contest. And not different pokemon different days, all in the same time, every time. And of course the encounter rate should vary a lot according to the rarity. For example a Sewaddle could have a 5% encounter chance, while a Volcarona a 0,0001% and a Genesect a 0,000001% encounter chance. I know it sounds kind of far fetched or even stupid but think about it:
1) Much bigger challenge, a high level scyther wouldn t grant you a win for sure, it would force you to search a lot and try different combinations
2)The chance to catch an extremely rare/powerful pokemon could make you spend many hours of frustrating/fun hunting
3) It would actually feel more like a unique experience similar to Safari Zone, not like a regular stroll on Route 30 with a bunch of caterpies and weedles
4)Of course the addition of much more valuable prizes to the winners, since taking place 1 would be almost impossible.
I also suggest that more winner places and possibly more contestants will be implemented, like about 10 or more instead of the current 4, so that the current prizes could be added to the bottom 4 places, and also to make the contest feel livelier and the challenge bigger.
