Pokemon League (Stored in Database)

While talking to nilllzz in the chat room I suggested something to him and he said he will do it when we get there. I am posting this just to let you guys no and improve upon it.

After you bet Red at Mt.Silver you get taken to a PC (Like when you defeat a champion) and your team is stored onto a Database. A new island is then unlocked and on this Island is a new Pokemon League. Once in there you face the normal Elite 4 and Champion but here is the twist, the team they use is randomly generated from the database of teams that beat Red. So each time will be different and a new challenge.

I will definitely make that Magikarp team I've seen on YouTube where a guy used a Smeargle and a Ninjask to boost for a switch to Magikarp (fokus - 1hp left) and then destroyed Red with Flail ... but AI will not be able to handle such a team :(

Thats why at first I suggested thew Online Pokemon League. Nillzz hasn't said no to it but said it will be hard to make it. Then i suggested this, he liked it but I am hoping for both.

I don't like that idea. I would welcome them having a set of 40 Pokemon and then they choose random Pokemon from that predefined set (kind of like the Battle places in the newer Pokemon games).

Maybe the mods on the site could make a team each week and that gets used as the elite four team.

Once trainers are in people can make custom maps with their own trainers in it, the official game could have that island as a kind of community spotlight thing, the trainers using teams from good custom maps, and/or good teams people on the forums posted about. Every patch the trainers are cycled out.

A more static way of doing it would be to have that island be a long series of trainer fights leading up to the end and a sick prize. The island trainers would start at red's level and go up as you progressed. The last 1/4th of them would have 6 level capped pokemon, with increasingly brutal or gimmicky teams. By the time you are in the level capped part of the island you will start seeing holes in your lineup.

What I'm talking about is basically the cute little faux-pokemon thing Blizzard added to WoW, which has you face off against trainers around the game world, battling and leveling your companion non-combat pets. Along the way you can find new pets and level them. Around when you hit level 70 the trainers in the areas ahead are all have a full party (3) of level capped (level 25) pets. My team of 3 that I had leveled to beat the other trainers beasted on the level 70-80 and 80-85 zone trainers, I thought the rest would be a pushover. How wrong I was. The trainers in the level 85-90 zones all had interesting teams and sometimes my team just couldn't beat them.

Kind of meandering here but the variety of challenging trainers in the WoW pet battles ensures that you level more than a single party. It would give the player a ton of long term goals.

Also, if double battles are added to this there should be a double battle version of the island, and progress along single and double battle versions should be independent. This way once you are done with it on single player you can play through it on coop and it would be really different.

I like the original idea presented in this thread. I agree that seeing both this and online Pokemon League would be great.
