Growlithe egg moves

My question is will a father pass down moves if I breed it with a ditto or do I have to use a female?

I heard that egg moves should come next patch or maybe later but it's not on yet. Ditto cant teach egg moves. The mother determine the pokemon and father is giving "egg moves". So if you have a female growlithe with a male houndoom with flare blitz (pure exemple), your egg will be a growlithe with flare blitz.
