Instead, just make it so trades by offline players are marked and their offers have to be approved first. Online mode players could also choose to not deal with offline mode players.

A similar system could be used for the online battles.

Pokemon is a game about being attached to your virtual pets. Making everyone give up their pokemon to access certain features is mean :(

As the game is right now it is very easy to edit the stats and pretty much anything about said pokemon in your party. If this game wants to even have a chance at being legit they need to have regulations of some sort. Granted this makes me sad as well since I won't be able to use Gateway mod anymore. I admit I cheated the original starters in myself but I trained them ala legit. However, remember this game is still in its early build so changes/improvements can and will probably happen. Now granted I don't think they should be implementing this system this early and I think they should do this once they have the Elite 4 done but I am not them.

If putting your pokemon in the GTS gave the devs access to check your pokemon and validate that your pokemon is "legit" then I could see this working, even in the slightest. But the problem with this is the amount of offline trades and the fact that you can still edit a pokemon to look legit with the "offline" mode. Another downside would be the time they would have to give up to check pokemon, which could be a lot of time.

The game's not even in alpha yet. I'm sure most of us have accepted that our save files will likely be made redundant a few times. No features are being lost, you will just have to directly connect to people. The forums will make that quite easy. To be honest I'm actually quite surprised they found a way to let us keep our old files.

And why the Offline Players haven't Another GTS System?
A System only for Offline Saves, where the people do trades under they own risk..

because in first place it takes muuuuuch coding to make a new gts
second why do make it?its waste of time, we can make our own pokemon
and third its offline...
so its a hard idea to become truth

We do plan to expand co-op for offline people but you will have to make the connection your self(hamichi port forwarding etc)
