EV related question

Quick question to anyone who can answer: are EV's (effort values) implemented yet? I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to pokemon games, and I wanted to know if I need to keep this in mind while playing or not.

I never really understood this EV thing... Ofcourse, you battle a certain Pokémon and you get 1 effort value for a certain stat, and after you get like 4-5 of these it'll increase that certain stat by 1.
But how do you know which Pokémon gives which?!

Evolved Pokémon give more while unevolved give less, quite understandable.
Also, how does EV training really work? You battle the Pokémon 4 times and it increases a stat or do you have to defeat this Pokémon 4 times and then level for the stat to appear?

As to whether it is implemented or not, I am not too sure. On the Wiki it explains it, but it doesn't say whether or not it is in there.

you gain EVs but I am not sure if they effect the stat
In the main games the stats are reset when you level up or when you put the pokemon into the PC

I see. So stat.exp. Makes much more sense. But the thing is: How do you know which Pokémon gives which? Their strongest stat decides that? Then it makes sense, I guess.

Btw, for this to properly work, your Pokémon has to be on a reasonably close level to the Pokémon you're fighting with for the EV to work, right? (Too lazy to skim through the ''Snoe's education websites.'')

maybe you really should read, EVs are given regardless of level difference. the amount is set and all pokemon involved in defeating the pokemon receive the same amount of point given

I only needed to know that... Calm down. With this info I can go out and do some EV training. >_>

If you want to know what pokemon gives what EV, you can check
Serebii, and when you have checked up a pokemon, you can see the EV it gives at Effort Value Earned in the info of the pokemon.
