As the title states, I have a pokemon (my starter) with the move cut in his moveset, but whenever I "talk" to the tree in Ilex forest, all it says is the normal thing, except it does not say "Would you like to CUT it?" Can anyone tell me what's going on? I can't move on until I pass that tree.

That would explain it. XD I remember going to the gym and battling him, but after checking my trainer card I didn't have his badge. I was worried I'd have to restart and lose the shiny Mareep I caught. Thanks!
