How to use flash?

i already got the 1st badge and flash HM and learn it,but i cant use it when im in dark cave
pls tell me how to use it

Flash does not work outside battle as of yet
Dark cave is very small right now so you can explore everything in it without seeing

so i cant go anywhere from violet city? i mean when i go into the dark cave its only like 4x4 big because all the way are blocked

Yup, there isn't more to explore in the cave at the moment. Try heading south from the Violet City.
