surfing

I have two suggestions for surfing in pokemon 3d. One would be if the player can see the pokemon that they are riding on as they surf? that would be a cool feature to the game. My other suggestion is if the surfing music from the original pokemon games can play as the player surfs on his pokemon. That would make the game just like the originals.

The music will be in there eventually, as for the person riding on the surfing pokemon, I think the way it is now is more simple & it works well too, else all the sprites must be re-made with a surfing sprite of every pokemon there is that can learn surf.

I think he ment that you would be able to see your character on the pokemon, not just the pokemon it is now.

I like surfing like it works now. Except by the details that you are floating, and the music. But it's great

I'd like to see this added, if only to see how Totodile manages to hold my character far up enough out of the water to look down on everyone.

It would be cool to see you jumping on your pokemon to surf. This is its own game after all. Someone might mod it in but even then it might be the most downloaded thing. I don't feel that this game needs to follow exactly what the original did if we have a few things that were incorporated from the remakes SSHG. It can always be an option somewhere.

I'd like to see something under me when surfing. Confused the heck out of me to press f5 and notice I'm...not there. I could only see my pokemon (bug? I'm using a custom trainer sprite, so...). But yeah, a unidentifieable shape thatyou ride on would work (like the main games surf pokemon shape). I agree that specific sprites for each pokemon might be too much work, though.

Right now you turn into your pokemon when you surf
Which can some times cause you to glitch and become your pokemon on land too but usually not
I dont know of any plans to change it but I don't think the sprites would necerarrily need to be joined but i would need to see how it would even out for each pokemon

welll we kinda....dont.....It would be nice to see your self riding a pokemon though
but i am against having it be a blob of sorts
however right now the transfor into pokemon stuff is very similar to gen 1-2

I suppose the "blob" wouldn't work well with 3D, so not having it's fine. Did Gen I/II have no pokemon sprite while surfing? What do you mean by similar to?

They had no trainer sprite
